Wisdom’s Fire

The spirit of Wisdom in this piece is represented by three figures. The leftmost figure represents the more ancient figure of Wisdom as Shekina/Hokma/Sophia. The central figure represents that spirit as presented in the Christ. The group of twelves figures on the right represents the continuation of that spirit in the twelve disciples, and then further through them in the church. The theme is further extended by a fringe on the bottom made of handspun wool yarn. The technique used in this piece is again freeform embroidery on a wool background. This piece is a companion to Wisdom’s River. Approximately 2′ x 3′.
