Sylvia Johnson Everett

I began with stitchery pieces, like the Wisdom series, in 1986, and then moved into tapestry, painted silk, mosaics, and papercuts. Along the way I created numerous artistic settings for worship. From 1995 to 2001 I was a resident artist at Andover Newton Theological School, where I helped develop the Theology and Arts program.

My woodworking arises not only out of my love for wood and craft but also as an expression of my theological commitment to a worship that draws people into circles of conversation and mutual nurture.
