This piece is in a “primitive” style to honor our grandmothers. Here I have depicted my grandmother Lucy Thrash, who lived with my family and taught me how to read. The chickens are a reference to the sheltering care affirmed by Jesus in Matthew 23:37. The fringe has antique buttons woven into it like jewels.
