The Source

I made “The Source” in response to many themes I encountered while living in Bangalore, South India, where I worked with Jyoti Sahi at his Ashram in Silvepura, just outside the city. The “Earth Mother” sits holding a bowl from which flows living water into the earth, nourishing the crops and trees. Three corn stalks, in the lower center, recall Cherokee tradition. A Trinity symbol of the sun rises in the center background while phases of the moon cross the sky. 24″ x 36″. 1991.
