This beautiful and historic home in traditional Mexican style, is located in Mesilla, New Mexico, on the corner across from the small casita where we spent a month in the winter of 2016. It was occupied by a retired landscape architect who maintained it with great care. Although we never met him, I wanted to paint his home and left a note in his front alcove, telling him of my admiration for his home and my desire to paint it. Several days later, he left a note on our windshield giving his permission and appreciative greetings.
