This is a series of meditations on Psalm 23, restating the Psalms in twelve contemporary captions. Each piece features found materials from a gravely shore along Richland Creek. In my home town of Waynesville, this creek was once looked upon as polluted and a flood-prone area where the poorest people lived. That no doubt was true then. It has now been cleaned up and has become a recreational area. It continues to wash up creek-tumbled glass, often broken beer bottles, and other small detritus. These pieces show how even our castoffs can become the materials to make something meaningful and perhaps beautiful. The landscape backgrounds are paper under clear glass. Sizes vary 9″ to 12″ wide, 12″ to 15″ high. 2007
