This colorful tapestry was commissioned for Zibs Reiter by her husband, Ted Reiter. Its abstract design and many bright colors attempt to capture something of the ineffable characteristics of Spirit. The suggestion of a colorfully plumed bird alighting is perhaps an invocation of such an event in our lives. 48″ x 36″ 1996. In 1997 I wove a second, almost identical, version for Andover Newton Theological School. It now hangs in their collection on the campus of Yale Divinity School.
