Choir Window Hanging

The choir asked to have something in the back balcony of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesville, NC, in addition to clear windows, for them to look at while they sit in the choir loft.

The design is based on the cover art of a book on banner design, “Seasons for Praise: Art for the Sanctuary” by Eleanore Feucht Sudbrock. My interpretation of this design represents the cycle of the liturgical year, and thus is appropriate year round.

It was constructed in four quadrants, each one a “sandwich” of transparent front and back with silk patches stitched between. The central white cross is centered with a Luther rose of resurrection. The circle motif is approximately 8’X8’. c. 2003
